Guided Alta Via n. 1 - Dolomites
A super panoramic hiking route along the famous Alta Via n. 1 of the Dolomites
- Walking difficulty level: medium - gravel roads and mountain footpaths with reasonable gradients and some narrow steep sections.
- 4.5-8 hours hiking per day.
- Hotel accommodation consists of comfortable family run hotels in Cortina d'Ampezzo and four panoramic high mountain huts with private rooms or shared dormitory rooms accommodation and shared bathrooms.

€1840 per person - depending on the hotel type and availability (minimum 2 participants).
Day 1 – 23 July 2025 - Arrival in Cortina d’Ampezzo, stay in Cortina, range of hotels available (3* or 4* hotels).
Day 2 – 24 July 2025 – Lake Braies – Rifugio Sennes – transfer from Cortina d’Ampezzo to Lake Braies - climb sharply up to and walk across the unusual and beautiful landscapes of the Biella and Sennes plateau surrounded by dramatic Dolomite peaks following the scenic Alta Via 1 (approx. 900 metres up and 200 down, 5.5/6 hours). Stay Rifugio Sennes, 1 night, BD (dormitories, shared bathrooms).
Day 3 – 25 July 2025 – Rifugio Sennes – Rifugio Lavarella – an initial down and then up in forest and pasture to the Fanes plateau with spectacular and varied views past alpine lakes and mountain streams (approx. 500 metres up and 400 down, 4/4.5 hours). Stay Rifugio Lavarella, 1 night, BD (private rooms, shared bathrooms).
Day 4 – 26 July 2025 – Rifugio Lavarella – Rifugio Lagazuoi - after initially continuing along the Fanes plateau past pristine mountain lakes, a sharp up takes you to the breathtaking austere Lagazuoi plateau at 2700 metres surrounded by some of the most famous peaks in the Dolomite to the dramatically situated Lagazuoi refuge (approx. 1000 metres up and 200 down, 6.5/7 hours). Stay Rifugio Lagazuoi, 1 night, BD (private rooms, shared bathrooms).
Day 5 – 27 July 2025 – Rifugio Lagazuoi – Rifugio Averau – an initial traverse across the Tofana massif before descending through forests to the road and then continuing up along mountain footpaths to the Cinque Torri and Nuvolau areas (approx. 1000 metres down and around 700 up, 6.5/7 hours). Stay Rifugio Averau, 1 night, BD (dormitories, shared bathrooms).
Day 6 – 28 July 2025 – Rifugio Averau – Cortina d’Ampezzo – after an initial downhill section to Passo Giau the route continues through some of the most beautiful pastures of the Dolomites before continuing on to pristine and beautiful Croda da Lago Alpine lake and then through forest and hamlets back to Cortina d’Ampezzo (approx. 1500 metres of down, 300 up, 7.5/8 hours). Stay in Cortina, range of hotels available, (3* or 4* hotels), B.
Day 7 – 29 July 2025 - Leave Cortina d’Ampezzo, B.
